The Trillium Creek apiary began with a package of bees in 2016 and has grown to more than sixty colonies in three bee yards by the summer of 2020. In the short time since our start, Sandi and I have discovered that even though there is a science to beekeeping, it seems to be more of an art that develops over time — and one person may never master its subtle changes and unique intricacies.
We have grown the apiary by purchasing quality queens with mixed genetics from several different sources. We believe this, along with raising some of our own queens, will give the best balance of behavior, production, and resistance to disease.
The spring of 2020 marked the beginning of our honeybee sales in the form of five frame deep nucleus colonies. We sold over thirty "nucs" with great success. If you are interested in purchasing or just "talking" bees, feel free to call.
Our 2024 spring nucs will be available beginning in early April. Please call or email for details and pricing.
